Tim Chambers: I haven’t seen a Can’t decrypt data message in a minute or so
We’re discussing sensitive issues, so I’m not going to post everything to https://wiki.encyclosphere.org/2024-04-12
SC: estimates $500K annual budget to make project sustainable
LS: wants to keep going even if not working full-time for KSF
JH: can’t keep doing what we’re doing
HS: could add one or two encyclopedias a month to encyclosearch.org as a volunteer
LS: we want to send email out to public sharing our expenses etc.
MC: series of shorter emails
SC: try GoFundMe
GiveSendGo - Pricing and Fees: The #1 Free Christian Fundraising Site
SC: membership model
https://www.overleaf.com/ for example
LS: let’s list member benefits, what does package look like
SC: sent proposal to Mamo some time ago
JH: you have to give members something in return
SC: idea is a ChatGPT trained on encyclopedia sources
LC: we did POC, need to demonstrate more results
Sorry, that’s LS
JH idea: go the AI route, AI needs encyclopedia data, we could provide it to them for a fee
(Jason’s idea: medallion architecture)
MC: gov’t grant?
LS: off the table
SC: gov’t funds basic science research
JH: application RFPs are dense, very difficult to appy
MC: there are people who specialize in doing the work
LS: grant writer
JH: look at worst case scenario to eliminate risk
LC: minimize overhead, what can be self-hosted?
LS: SC’s ZWINode is in that vein
MC: sell a thumb drive with public domain encyclopedias
LS: has started, taking him considerable time 14:57 Jane Jane says:👍 14:57 Tim Chambers

A handful of encyclopedia bibliographies I’ve found so far. My sort from first half of a WorldCat best match sort. I can get any of these through interlibrary loan on my ppld.org library card. That card also gives me access to the UCCS Kraemer Family Library, but I have to be in the building on campus to get on the intranet. I plan to do that tomorrow.
