Request for Comments (RFC) Process for KSF
Request for Comments (RFC) Process for KSF
I would like to suggest for consideration, implementing a simple RFC process for KSF projects and standards.
The motivation behind this is providing a defined process for proposing solutions, and for seeking community input or consensus.
This would allow for changes, particularly those that impact a wider ecosystem of people, to be formally agreed upon (or rejected) by vote, after a period of community input.
To demonstrate how this might work, I have gone ahead and created a first draft Request for Comments (RFCs) wiki-page, as well as the first RFC (which is both an example, and also a serious RFC item I am proposing for consideration).
I believe it is important that this process should not slow down development work or be burdensome, and I have tried to write it to reflect this.
I welcome others to make changes to the RFC page, and to comment of the first RFC. Please also feel free to discuss on Mattermost.
